Porsche: 1965 Porsche 356C. Cost $4,200.00
Last and best of the 356 Porsches, the 1963-65 356C offered more interior space, smoother lines and better performance than any of the "bathtub" Porsches that had gone before. Power was from the traditional flat four, the standard unit being 1582cc with 95bhp, the "SC" packing a 1588cc double overhead cam with 115bhp. The speeds were over 110mph, 120+for the SC. The "C" and "SC"came as coupes or cabriolets, with prices ranging from $4,200 for the 356C coupe to $5,100 for the 356SC cabriolet. Measures 8 1/2" long by 3" tall.
Lamborghini: 1985 Lamborghini Countach
Base price $99,500.00
It's been around for 15 years, but the Coutach ("COON-tasch-colloquial approximate: "Good Lord") is still the ultimate Italian "exoticar". Consider the specifications: 455 HP four-cam 4.8 liter V-12 engine, 5-speed gearbox mounted ahead of the engine, rear drive with power take-off through the crankcase to the differential. This translates to 0-60 in 6 seconds, a top speed of 160+. A thin aluminum Bertone body covers an intricate, tubular space-frame chassis. Since 1981, the Countach has been certified street-legal in all 50 states. The '85 had only two optional extras: a $5500 aerodinamic spoiler and a $7500 sound system. Production averages about 50 per year.
Measures 8 1/2" long by 2 1/4" tall.
