I call this "The Road to my House". I am lucky enough to live on the slopes of Hualalai, a sleeping volcano. To the north of us is Mauna Kea, which is snow capped in the winter, and to the south, Kilauea, our very active volcano. Luckily Hualalai has been sleeping long enough for it to be covered by a colorful blanket of rich exotic foliage. I never get tired of traveling up the road to my house, passing papaya , African Tulip, citrus, and plumeria trees in addition to the countless other plants and flowers that make the Big Island the magical place that it is. Of course, Stevie Rae and Cosmo are always lounging in the driveway, waiting for me to come home.
