Hauling Water Ojibwa Art By Nokomis Double Matted Print.
Early in the winter it was relatively easy to chop a hole in the ice so that water could be hauled to the cabin. This was also a good opportunity to do some fishing. As the cold months continued the ice would get so thick that it wasn't practical to chop a hole. Then water was made from melted snow...A long tedious task if it was needed in large volumes.
This is a wash day. You can tell because there is more than one pail of water being hauled to the house.
A beautiful print by Nokomis.
This print depicts a mother with her son. The print is presented with a White on top of Powder Blue double mat and has the signature on the lower right and is ready to be framed.
