This is a beautiful Black & White Pen and Ink Drawing on High quality acid free White Mat. Matted to fit an 16" x 20" frame. Open Edition. Dated, Titled, and signed twice, once on the lower
side of the Image, and another on ink on the lower right. This piece of art was dedicated to someone on 6/18/1992. Comes on it's plastic sleeve as well.
Pen and Ink drawing techniques are very similar to those used in pencil drawing, but they will yield a stronger sense of value with the contrasting black on white; that is assuming you are using black ink on white paper.
One thing interesting about Vincent Van Gogh's paintings is that he used a lot of strokes used in pen and drawing in his oil paintings. Van Gogh's paintings are excellent examples of pen and ink technique. Although in many cases he is using a brush to do his stippling and hatching.
If you are unfamiliar with pen and ink drawing, start to look for pen and ink renderings in magazines, at the museum, in art books.
